With players like Jesse Lingard and Martin Odegaard using loan moves to revive their careers this season, we’re using today’s video to look at 10 more players who changed their fortunes with a temporary switch, and our list includes Chelsea, Liverpool, and Real Madrid stars. The Blues sent out Thibaut Courtois, Mo Salah, and Romelu Lukaku to get experience as youngsters, and all three now rank among the world’s best in their position, while Diogo Jota and Mateo Kovacic looked down and out when loans to England showcased their unappreciated talents. Others, like Kyle Walker and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, persuaded their parent clubs to sell stars to make room for them, while West Ham plucked Tomas Soucek out of obscurity in the Czech Republic, and Andrea Pirlo used a loan to change position and make himself an icon.
